JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: Seeking a local hire for the Consulate General of Japan in New York. The Consulate General of Japan in New York is currently seeking to hire a local employee in the Finance Division.

1. Work hours:
Monday through Friday (except holidays), 9:15 am to 6:00 pm (1 hour lunch break)(Note: Telecommuting may be applied when necessary due to the COVID-19)
Leave system: Weekends off (Sat. and Sun.), days the consulate is closed, and annual paid vacations.
Benefits and compensation: Determined based on education, work experience and other qualifications.
2. Date of adoption:
Within August, 2022 (tentative schedule)
3. Duties:
The Finance Division is responsible for researching macroeconomic and financial trends in the U.S. and explaining Japanese monetary and fiscal affairs, etc. to American investors. Specific duties of the successful candidate will include the following:
Conduct executive secretarial duties.
Manage the schedule of the division's internal staff.
Coordinate dates and locations for meetings with external parties, regular meetings with financial institutions and others.
Handle the needs of business travelers to the region (lodging, transportation, itinerary and other arrangements)
Act as contact person for general inquiries from outside the organization.
Assist in the preparation of documents and clerical work.
Execute other duties deemed necessary by the Consulate General.
4. Qualifications:
U.S. permanent resident status or U.S. citizenship.
5. Qualifications required for the job:
Proficiency in Japanese and English (especially native level Japanese).
General office work skills using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Email, etc.
Ability to prepare arrangements and procedures appropriately, and to carry out paperwork accurately.
Highly cooperative and polite. Punctuality is essential.
