Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: The Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations is currently seeking a new Secretary.

1. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

General Secretarial Work, such as making appointments and managing schedules for senior officers, drafting correspondences (including Japanese- English translation), coordinating logistics/protocol for official functions, preparing official mailings, etc.

2. Requirements:

(1) Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.
(2) Japanese reading and writing skills, Excellent English written and verbal communications skills required.
(3) Applicant must be familiar with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

3. Status

Full-time and non-exempt Local Staff

4. Working days and hours

Monday through Friday (5 days a week)
8 hours and 45 minutes/day (including unpaid1 hour lunch break)

5. Employment Period

2 years (thereafter with possible extension if both parties agree.)
3 months’ probation period required.

6. Salary
Commensurate with applicant’s work experience.
