Book Club: THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS AN EASY JOB (Sun, 7/21)

Book cover courtesy of Bloomsbury.

Date: Sunday, July 21, 2024

Time: 3:00 - 5:00 pm EST

Location: Prospect Park Long Meadow (in case of inclement weather, we will switch to Zoom and a link will be shared on the Facebook Event)

Details: The JETAANY Book Club has been meeting on Zoom for four long years. Since work styles have changed a lot since early 2020, we are going to try out an in-person, weekend, outdoor gathering! Feel free to bring a picnic blanket and some snacks and drinks. We'll be discussing Kikuko Tsumura's There’s No Such Thing as an Easy Job, a witty and unsettling look at the maladies of late capitalist life through the unique lens of modern Japanese culture.

RSVP: Let us know you’re coming and check for updates on the Facebook Event.

Contact: For questions, suggestions, or to join the email distribution list, send a note to Christy Jones at bookclub@jetaany.org.

About JETAANY Book Club
The JETAANY Book Club is open to anyone with an interest in Japan and a love of reading. Past selections have included Japanese classics, contemporary fiction, non-fiction, YA and graphic novels, from Japanese, Japanese American and non-Japanese authors. The common thread is JAPAN! Please join us for a casual, nonjudgmental discussion with JET alum and friends. While we used meet in person over pizza, lately we’ve been gathering virtually. Feel free to eat and drink during the meeting. Joining late is OK, too!
