(2/27) JETAANY Book Club: The Emissary

Join us in February for a discussion of Yoko Tawada's THE EMISSARY, winner of the 2018 National Book Award in Translated Literature. Not really sure what it's about, so let's ask the experts:

“A mini-epic of eco-terror, family drama and speculative fiction."
- Guardian

"The Emissary achieves a technically impossible balance of open-hearted fable and cold-blooded satire."”
- Financial Times

“An airily beautiful dystopian novella about mortality."
- Booklist

“A Hieronymus Bosch–like painting in novel form."
- Marie Mutsuki Mockett
