Dayana Mendoza
Membership & Career Development Chair
Hyogo, 2017-20
A Peruvian American born and raised in New York City, Dayana was an ALT in Hyogo-ken from 2017-2020. She graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges with a double major in International Relations and Asian Studies. During her three years in Japan, she lived in a town called Sanda where she participated in local cultural events, Language exchange programs, and helped with English Speech contests. But during her time it was the connections she made that made every moment more memorable.
When deciding to return to the states the JETAANY group became a welcoming environment not only for her but for all those returning back home from Japan. Dayana is looking forward to helping the future generations of JETAANY members connect, feel welcomed, and never forget the amazing experiences they've had during our time in JET. Even though we've returned home, a little piece of Japan will always stay with us
