What is Dragonboat racing?
Dragonboat racing is an exciting team paddling sport that started in China about 2,300 years ago. Small dragonboats holding 8-12 paddlers and large boats holding upwards of 20. Each boat also has a drummer to keep the pace at the front (much like a coxswain in rowing) and a steerer at the back. Winning teams are able to make powerful strokes with the whole boat in unison. Dragonboat provides an intense full body aerobic workout.
