Yoko Ono: touch me at Galerie Lelong

From ChelseaArtGalleries.com: In touch me, Yoko Ono will present an interactive painting, film, conceptual photography and sculptures that comment on different facets of the female experience, calling upon the viewers to make direct and deeply personal connections. Ono’s first New York exhibition since Odyssey of a Cockroach at Deitch Projects in 2003, touch me affords the audience an opportunity to experience her work in a new way.     Saturday, April 12 12:00 – 5:30 PM Brooklyn Museum at 200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY This symposium will feature graduate students (including one of our very own JET alums!) exploring the connections between Japanese and American visual cultures in conjuction with MURAKAMI and Utagawa: Master of the Japanese Print, two exhibitions on display at the museum. This is a great chance for anyone who hasn’t yet seen the Utagawa or Murakami exhibit to come and check it out.  Roland Kelts, author of Japanamerica, will deliver the keynote address.     Sapporo City will host the iCommons Summit 2008 from July 29 through August 1.  The iSummit is an exploration of the emerging opportunities for co-ownership, co-creation and the widespread distribution of ideas and creativity in the digital age.  In conjunction with the Summit, a contest is called the “Sushi Project” is being held to find new types of sushi and expand the popularity of sushi abroad.  You are invited to take part by submitting your own original sushi recipies and designs. The application deadline is May 16, 2008.  Application details and registration process can be found at here.
