Sake Language Exchange

An Invitation from Teachers College Columbia University Friends of Japan The next Sake Language Exchange will be held on Thursday, 9/20 from 7-9pm in Russell 306 (3rd floor of library). · A language exchange with an emphasis on practicing Japanese/ English conversation with native speakers of each language · All levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced) are welcome · Learn and practice language in a natural context · Sake is provided to loosen the tongue! · FREE and open to the public (you do not have to be a Columbia student to attend, but feel free to bring your own Pocky or other Japanese snacks to share!)     Tuesday September 25th, 6 pm JAPAS 38 at 9 East 38th St. between 5th and Madison. The first hour (6-7 pm) is the FREE Quarterly Meeting for JET alums. We’d love it if you could join usand share you ideas with us! If you think you can make it, send Roba email so we can get a preliminary headcount: president@jetaany.org. After that, we will have nomihoudai beer, karaoke, and food for 2 hours (7-9 pm). The cost will depend on how many people show up.

    The Consulate General of Japan in New York is setting up a booth to introduce Japanese culture at the 92nd Street Y Street Festival on Sunday, September 16. We need JETAA volunteers for either AM shift (11AM to 2PM) or PM shift (2PM to 5PM.) If you are interested, please contact Noriko via email at jet@ny.cgj.org Please indicate which shift (AM or PM) you would like to take. Thank you!
