  • Call for Paddlers: JETAANY Dragonboat Team Here’s your chance to join in this racing tradition that dates back over 2000 years! We are looking for paddlers to compete for the JETAANY team in the 2015 Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival (Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9, 2015). No experience is necessary, we will provide training. Training sessions are held every Saturday morning from June 13- August 1 at Meadow Lake in Flushing Meadow Park. The cost for practice time and the race will be around $40-$50 per person.   What is Dragonboat racing?   • The JET Alumni Association of New York, in partnership with NY de Volunteer, raised approximately $10,700 during our three-hour Fundraiser for Japan on Tuesday night at Slate in Midtown! There were 300 people in attendance who purchased nearly $4000 worth of raffle tickets! It was a fun-filled night attended by JET Alumni, college students, Japanese expatriates living in New York, and members of the Japanese press.   The event started promptly at 6:30, with many attendees arriving early. By 7:00 pm, there was already a line outside Slate. In attendance were reporters from Fuji TV, TV Tokyo, NHK, Bi-Daily Sun New York, and the Asahi Shimbun who took footage and interviewed guests.     April 5 Fundraiser Raises Over $10,000!

    The JET Alumni Association of New York, in partnership with NY de Volunteer, raised approximately $10,700 during our three-hour Fundraiser for Japan on Tuesday night at Slate in Midtown! There were 300 people in attendance who purchased nearly $4000 worth of raffle tickets! It was a fun-filled night attended by JET Alumni, college students, Japanese expatriates living in New York, and members of the Japanese press.   The event started promptly at 6:30, with many attendees arriving early.
