JETAANY Webinar Series: Past Sessions

With the generous support of a Sasakawa USA grant, JETAANY launched a monthly webinar series in 2017, in cooperation with other organizations and JETAA chapters. Below are summaries of our past webinars. Information about upcoming webinars is available here. “Getting Into International Work With the U.S. Government” (January 4, 2018) This webinar provided an introduction to international opportunities with the U.S. government, including Peace Corps, Fulbright, USAID and the U.S. Department of State. The presenters, Brenda McKinney and Luther Flagstad, met while serving on the National AJET Council together in 2008 and now both reside in New York City where they work in law and policy. We are looking for paddlers to compete for the JETAANY team in the 2015 Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival (Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9, 2015). There were 300 people in attendance who purchased nearly $4000 worth of raffle tickets! It was a fun-filled night attended by JET Alumni, college students, Japanese expatriates living in New York, and members of the Japanese press.   The event started promptly at 6:30, with many attendees arriving early. By 7:00 pm, there was already a line outside Slate. In attendance were reporters from Fuji TV, TV Tokyo, NHK, Bi-Daily Sun New York, and the Asahi Shimbun who took footage and interviewed guests.     April 5 Fundraiser Raises Over $10,000!

    The JET Alumni Association of New York, in partnership with NY de Volunteer, raised approximately $10,700 during our three-hour Fundraiser for Japan on Tuesday night at Slate in Midtown! There were 300 people in attendance who purchased nearly $4000 worth of raffle tickets!
