Invitation to “Hand in Hand” Third Concert
Through the universal language of music, Project “Hand in Hand” calls for the continued support of Japan’s recovery from the disaster of March 11th, 2011. Now in its third year, Project “Hand in Hand” will bring 91 high school students from Japan, half from the disaster-affected areas and the other half from a school widely supporting the relief efforts. They will perform together with the students from College of New Jersey Chorale, students from Academy of the City, renowned opera singers and musicians of the New York City Opera Orchestra to make for an unforgettable night.
Japan has received extensive support from all over the world in the wake of the disaster. “Hand in Hand” concerts provide the young Japanese students an opportunity to directly thank the Americans who remained supportive in Japan’s time of need. This concert will be a treasured memory for both the New York attendees and the young high school students, whose new pride, confidence and joy will span the sea. Project “Hand in Hand” hopes to live up to its goals and inspire the next generation of young Japanese people, who will soon be in charge of the reconstruction process. These young participants of “Hand in Hand” Third Concert will make the affected prefectures from which they hail proud, and give everyone hope for the future.
