Come join JETAA New Jersey and Philly Subchapters on a fun road trip to the historic Global Village of Seabrook, New Jersey. We will visit local sites and attend a Japanese Obon festival honoring the spirits of one’s ancestors with joyous folk dance and powerful taiko drumming. It is a day in the country, discovering history, exploring spirituality and celebrating with gratitude those who have come before us.

After the community center visit, we will attend the Obon Festival were Japanese and American food stands, a small Japanese garden, a brief talk by the Buddhist monk at the temple, taiko, traditional Japanese dancing, etc.
The Obon festivities include Japanese food, crafts, traditional folk dance and taiko drumming. Visitors who have come from near and far are invited to join the dance in a circle of friendship. It will bring back many memories from your time in Japan.
