Join us for the 2012 Obon Festival in Seabrook, NJ, sponsored by the Seabrook Buddhist Temple. We will first go to the Seabrook Educational and Cultural Center to learn about the large community of Japanese Americans, who relocated to the area during World War II. We will also have a guided tour of the Seabrook Buddhist Temple & its garden. Then we will check out the Obon Festival where there will be food, Bon Odori & taiko performances.
If you would like a ride in the van, please send an email to Fernando Rojas at firstname.lastname@example.org. There are only a few spaces left, so sign up quickly. The van will stop at the Newport Path station in Jersey City & possibly the New Brunswick train station. We are also looking for volunteers to help with carpooling. If you are able to offer rides, please email Fernando your name, location & number of people you can take.
