Dosokai, a group of NY runners from Hokkaido, will run for victims of unprecedented disaster happened last week in Northeast region of Japan. It won’t be a competition, but will be a peaceful group running.
Date: March 20th, 2011 (Sunday)
Place: Central Park (Meeting Point: 72nd and 5th avenue entrance)
Start: 8:30, 10:00 and 11:30am. (3x 6miles counterclockwise)
We would like to welcome all of you to run with us in any or all of three run. Please meet us at the starting point at 8:30, 10:00 or 11:30am. If you are not a runner, please cheer us at the park.
We’d like to ask all of you to kindly bring one dollar per person for donation. (No coins please! It’s too heavy to run with)
We will be wearing “Run for Japan” blue T-shirts so that you can find us easily.
If you are a slow runner or a fast runner and won’t be able to run with us, please feel free to run at your own pace, but we’d like you to raise fund while running. We will provide you the donation bags at the starting point.
The amount we will raise will be donated to Japanese Red Cross Society and Japanese prefectures that are affected the most namely Miyagi, Fukushima and Iwate. You can check the fund raising result on our face book page at http://on.fb.me/dRAehm
We will run rain or shine. There is NYRR’s “NYC Half” from 7:30am on the same date, and the park is expected to be crowded around 8:30am. If you wish to join us in 8:30 round, please meet us a little early to avoid the confusion.
