About JETAANYThe Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program Alumni Association of New York (JETAANY) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving over 2,000 members in the tri-state area. JET Alumni have all lived and worked in Japan as English teachers in the Japanese Public School System. JETAANY’s mission is to assist returning JETs with acclimating to life and work in New York, foster education and understanding of Japanese culture and strengthen the ties between JET alumni and the Japanese community. We do this through a wide variety of social, cultural, professional and athletic events throughout the year.

While we may not have cherry blossom trackers here in the United States, there are still some amazing places to sit down under a sakura tree and enjoy some Japanese festivities. As we approach another election season for our executive officers, we wanted to reach out to everyone with a quick timeline of the selection process for those that might be interested in running for an officer seat. Come join other young professionals and learn about shochu from expert Yukari Sakamoto and sample over 20 kinds of shochu from 12 leading Japanese breweries. Mixologist Gen Yamamoto will pour his signature cocktails and give advice about the variety of ways to serve shochu. Light Japanese food will accompany the tasting.
