About JETAANYThe Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program Alumni Association of New York (JETAANY) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving over 2,000 members in the tri-state area. JET Alumni have all lived and worked in Japan as English teachers in the Japanese Public School System. JETAANY’s mission is to assist returning JETs with acclimating to life and work in New York, foster education and understanding of Japanese culture and strengthen the ties between JET alumni and the Japanese community. We do this through a wide variety of social, cultural, professional and athletic events throughout the year.

Please bring your Japanese friends, your thinking caps and your desire to speak the Nihongo! This month we’ll go to TakeSushi, a traditional Japanese restaurant, where they’ve created a set menu of sushi, appetizers, and desserts especially for JETTANY. The owner said their waiting staff will speak Japanese to us (don’t worry, you can always ask for English if need be). Also come for the Harrison Street Regatta Kayaking race. You can watch or participate in this 1 mile paddling course! Finally, end the day with some Ultimate Frisbee fun in the park (look for us around 77th St.).
