WHEN: Tuesday, August 5 – 6:30 PM (ok to join late if you can’t be there at 6:30) WHERE: Japan Local Government Center – 2nd Floor, 666 Fifth Ave (entrance on 53rd between 5th & 6th Aves) WHY: It’s fun and there will be free food. HOW: With feeling and passion POST-STUFFING NIJIKAI: Location TBD (If you can’t make the mailing, you can still rsvp for just the nijikai.)   • Passing Poston returns to New York City on August 8th through to the 14th at the Two Boots Pioneer Theatre. For the thousands of Japanese Americans forcibly interned during World War II, the scars never healed. For Ruth Okimoto the need to confront the past brings her back to the desert of Arizona where she spent her childhood years behind barbed wire. You’ll also have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the New York City Waterfalls project that’s happening this summer.   • Saturday, August 9 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM Edgewater, New Jersey Always wanted to get to Mitsuwa mega supermarket for some Japanese goods but didn’t have an opportunity to go? Mitsuwa is having it’s annual summer fest this weekend, making it a perfect time to travel to NJ for some Jap groceries and summer fun.  Check here for list of activities and times HOW TO GET THERE? The shuttle bus runs back and forth to Mitsuwa from Port Authority every 15 minutes and costs $3 each way. The Mitsuwa Shuttle Bus Stop in NYC is located at Gate #51 in the South Building of the Port Authority Bus Terminal (8th Ave. between 40th & 41st sts.)<!-- AddThis Sharing Buttons below -->
